Lecture Topic: Determinants of Shoulder Balance in Lenke 1 and 2 Curves
Prof. Dr. Chris Chan Yin Wei is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon at the University of Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and UM Specialist Centre (UMSC), Malaysia, where he also serves as Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and is actively involved in the Spine Research Unit of the National Orthopaedic Centre of Excellence for Research and Learning (NOCERAL). He obtained his MD from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak and completed his MS Orthopaedics at Universiti Malaya, graduating top of his class. His clinical expertise includes spinal deformity correction, adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, spinal tumors, and degenerative spine disorders. Prof. Chan completed advanced spine training at Kyung Hee University, South Korea, with a focus on sagittal imbalance and kyphosis. An accomplished academic and researcher, he has authored over 160 scientific publications and currently serves as Honorary Secretary of the Malaysian Spine Society and Fellowship Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Spine Society (APSS).
