Dr. John Y. S. Choi is an Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon and Director of Spine Ortho Clinic in Melbourne, Australia. He obtained his MBChB from the University of Otago and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He has completed advanced spine fellowships across Asia and is internationally recognized for his expertise in minimally invasive, endoscopic, and robotic spine surgery. Dr. Choi holds leadership roles in multiple global spine organizations, including SMISS-AP and ISASS-AP, and is a pioneer of unilateral biportal endoscopic (UBE) spine surgery in Oceania. He has authored numerous publications and book chapters, holds several surgical innovation patents, and is actively involved in international training and education of spine surgeons.
