Prof. Dr. Syed Shahidul Islam is a Senior Consultant in Orthopaedics, Trauma, and Spine Surgery at Labaid Cancer Hospital & Super Specialty Centre, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He previously served as Professor and Academic Director at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), Dhaka. He obtained advanced qualifications including D. Ortho., MS (Orthopaedics), and FACS (America). A respected leader in regional orthopaedics and spine surgery, he is currently Chairman of the APOA Infection Section, President-Elect of the Bangladesh Spine Society (BSS), and a Board Member of the Asia Pacific Spine Society (APSS). Prof. Islam has contributed actively to spine education and research, with multiple publications, presentations, and participation in major international orthopaedic and spine meetings.
