A/Prof. Dr. Sharif Ahmed Jonayed is an Associate Professor of Spine Surgery at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He holds qualifications including MBBS, FCPS (Orthopaedic Surgery), and MS (Orthopaedic Surgery), with advanced fellowship training in spine surgery from Japan, the United Kingdom, India, Singapore, and South Korea. His clinical expertise includes minimally invasive spine surgery, scoliosis correction, spinal decompression, slipped disc treatment, and complex spinal trauma surgery. Dr. Jonayed recently became the first Bangladeshi surgeon to receive the prestigious Robert B. Winter Global Outreach Fellowship (2026) from the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), recognizing his contributions to spinal deformity surgery and global spine care.
