Dr. Pierre M. Mella is a Filipino orthopaedic spine surgeon based in Cebu and is recognized for his expertise in degenerative and oncologic spine surgery, minimally invasive spinal procedures, and wound care management. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of the Philippines–Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH), one of the country’s premier orthopedic training institutions, where he developed a strong academic and clinical background in complex musculoskeletal and spinal disorders. Dr. Mella is a Fellow of the Philippine Orthopaedic Association (FPOA) and an active member of both the Philippine Spine Society (PSS) and the Philippine Wound Care and Lower Extremity Society (POWCDLS). He currently practices in several major hospitals in Cebu, including Chong Hua Hospital (Fuente and Mandaue), University of Cebu Medical Center, Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital, Cebu Velez General Hospital, Perpetual Succour Hospital, and St. Vincent General Hospital. In addition to his spine practice, he is known for integrating advanced wound care principles into orthopaedic and spine management and remains actively involved in regional spine education and surgical initiatives in the Visayas.
