Lecture Topic: In the OR: Managing Intraoperative Complications in Aging Spines
Dr. Orso L. Osti, MD, PhD, FRACS (Orthopaedics), FAOrthA, is a highly respected Consultant Orthopaedic and Spinal Surgeon at The International Spine Centre in Adelaide, Australia. Originally from Genoa, Italy, he completed his medical degree with honours at the University of Rome before pursuing advanced spinal surgery and research training in Australia. Since 1993, Dr. Osti has practiced in Adelaide with a special focus on adult degenerative spinal disorders, spinal pain management, neuromodulation, and complex spinal surgery. He earned a PhD from the University of Adelaide for his pioneering research on the pathogenesis of intervertebral disc degeneration and has authored more than 50 scientific publications in the field of spine surgery and spinal disorders. Dr. Osti is a former Chief Delegate for Australia to the Asia Pacific Spine Society (APSS), serves on the editorial boards of Spine and the Asian Spine Journal, and has received the prestigious Volvo Award for Spinal Research twice. In addition to his clinical work, he has held academic appointments at the University of Adelaide and continues to contribute extensively to spinal research, education, and healthcare policy development in Australia.
