Prof. S. Rajasekaran is Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics, Trauma & Spine Surgery at Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, India, one of the largest orthopaedic specialty centers in South Asia. He holds multiple advanced qualifications including FRCS (Edinburgh & London), M.Ch. (Liverpool), and PhD, and is internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading spine surgeons and researchers. He is a Past President of the Asia Pacific Spine Society (APSS), SICOT, ISSLS, and the Indian Orthopaedic Association, and previously served as Chair of the AO Spine International Board. A globally celebrated academic, he has authored over 500 international publications, contributed extensively to spine textbooks, and has received numerous prestigious honors including the ISSLS Lifetime Achievement Award (2025) and multiple international spine research awards. Prof. Rajasekaran is also widely recognized for his humanitarian and public health initiatives in road safety, affordable healthcare, and spinal rehabilitation.
