Dato’ (Dr) K.S. Sivananthan is a senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon currently practicing at ALTY Hospital, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with over four decades of experience in orthopaedic and spine surgery. He obtained his MBBS from Calcutta and advanced qualifications including FRCS (Edinburgh) and M.Ch. Orthopaedic Surgery (Liverpool), where he was awarded the prestigious Norman Roberts Medal. A highly respected leader in regional and global orthopaedics, he is a Past President of the Asia Pacific Spine Society (APSS), Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA), and Malaysian Spine Society. He has held numerous international leadership roles, contributed extensively to spine education, and served on editorial boards of major journals. Dato’ Sivananthan is widely recognized for his lifelong contributions to spine surgery, including receiving multiple honors such as the “Excellence in the Field of Spine Surgery Award” (2025).
