Lecture Topic: Complex Kyphotic Deformity

Prof. Dr. Huiren Tao is Chief of Service of the Orthopedic Medical Center and Division of Spine Surgery at The University of Hong Kong–Shenzhen Hospital (HKU-SZH), China, and serves as Clinical Professor and Consultant in Orthopaedics at the LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. An internationally renowned spine surgeon, he is widely recognized for his expertise in severe spinal deformity correction, including complex ankylosing spondylitis kyphosis and scoliosis surgery. Prof. Tao has performed more than 2,000 complex deformity procedures and is highly experienced in advanced spinal osteotomy, spinal fusion, vertebroplasty, and reconstructive spine surgery. Prior to joining HKU-SZH, he held major leadership positions at Shenzhen University General Hospital and Xijing Hospital. He is an active member of the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) and a Board Member of the Asia Pacific Spine Society (APSS). Prof. Tao gained international recognition for successfully treating severe “folded human” deformity cases and has received numerous honors, including the Shenzhen Special Government Allowance for medical excellence.
