Dr. Mario R. Ver is a pioneering Filipino orthopaedic spine surgeon and a founding member of the Philippine Spine Society, widely recognized for introducing several modern spine surgery techniques in the Philippines, including awake spine surgery, microsurgical decompression, image-guided navigational spine surgery, and artificial disc replacement. He is currently an active consultant at the St. Luke’s Medical Center Institute of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Quezon City and Global City and previously served as Spine Section Head and Director of the institute. Dr. Ver completed his orthopaedic residency training at the University of the Philippines–Philippine General Hospital and underwent advanced spine fellowship training in Singapore, the United States, and Japan. He is a Diplomate of the Philippine Board of Orthopaedics and Fellow of the Philippine Orthopaedic Association, Philippine College of Surgeons, and Philippine Spine Society. Throughout his distinguished career, he has authored numerous scientific publications, served as faculty in international spine meetings, and contributed significantly to the advancement of modern spine surgery and education in the Philippines.
