Introduction: Discectomy open or endoscopic is the most frequently performed procedure in spine surgery. Postoperative infection in any field is a drastic complication both for patient and doctor. It takes prolong course and may take months if not years to heal. The recommended treatment is prolonging rest, antibiotics with specimen for culture whenever possible. Early detection is crucial and if antibiotics are started early. It improves the symptoms in majority of cases. In this modern era prolong rest and morbidity for months is not acceptable to majority of patients. So recently we changed our practice to early stabilization and observed magical results in terms of mobilization and pain relief. In this study we want to review our results of early surgical debridement and stabilization of postoperative lumbar discitis in terms of pain relief and function. Functional outcome will be measured by ODI (Oswestry Disability Index).
