The aim of surgical treatment of Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) is to obtain not only fusion but also to restore global balance. Posterior correction technique with the pedicle screws and rod have been reported to achieve great success with these terms. This retrospective study was performed to assess the radiological outcome and restoration of balance of 21 Consecutive AIS patients [(Male:6, Female:15)] treated by posterior corrective surgery within the period of July 2022 to December 2025 with pedicle screws and rods. Data included: patient demographics, curve type, coronal and sagittal curve magnitude, curve flexibility, fusion levels, curve magnitude and shoulder, trunk and pelvic balance assessment parameters at the preoperative, initial postoperative and at final follow-up visits. Overall satisfaction outcome was assessed by SRS-22 questionnaire. The t- test and χ2 testing were completed. A p<0.05 was considered significant. For analysis the patients were distributed in to gender-based groups [Group-F (Female) n=15, Group-M (Male) n=6]. There was overall significant improvement of primary curve magnitude from 73.4°±14.7° to 21.7°±10.6°. Fusion levels involved 8±1.6 levels. In both Group-F and Group-M, there was significant improvement of shoulder, trunk and pelvic balance parameters with no significant difference between the groups. SRS-22 outcome was also satisfactory and statistically indifferent helping to conclude that, posterior spinal correction of AIS by pedicle screw and rod provides satisfactory radiological outcome irrespective of gender.
